ABOUT US First Act Theatre is an exciting concept in theatre for young people - as well as giving our members the opportunity to perform on stage, we are able to provide a professional standard of training in lighting, sound, stage management, marketing and show direction and production - in fact all the operational aspects of running a professional theatre. We run regular drama workshops three nights a week, with rehearsals for forthcoming shows on a further two. |

MEMBERSHIP First Act has over 200 members, ranging in age from 7 to 19 yrs, making it one of the largest young peoples' theatre companies in the country and, unlike most, we don't operate a waiting list for membership. We are always looking for new members who want to try acting, singing, dancing or any of the production or technical aspects of the theatre. Interested? Then please contact us. |
FIRST ACT BAND First Act Band is based at the Jubilee Theatre in Gosforth. The band is open to musicians of all abilities and ages. SECOND ACT THEATRE We recently introduced another branch to our tree by creating Second Act Theatre, an adult version of our successful model. This has given our older members an opportunity to progress into a professional adult theatre company after they leave First Act. Second Act's first production was "Working" in October 2003.
